Celestium Concept - Earth

Humanity's homeworld and the cultural and political capital of the Dominion, Earth is held with almost religious awe by most humans. Though its continents have given way to cities long ago they are hardly the soulless grey concrete oceans of the Old Democracies. The cities of Earth are vibrant with colour and life. Great forests of trees cling to the skyscraper walls, water-ways navigate every nook and cranny giving the hustle and bustle an odd sense of serenity. Tapestries, statues, great pieces of painted art stretching kilometres long or high make the planet almost like an eternal palace shared by the population Hundreds of thousands of extraplanetary cultures within the Dominion come to Earth to have their voices heard, and so the planet is a great boiling cauldron of culture. Entire societies are born, exist and become extinct in the span of a day. The great oceans have been converted into massive reclamation centres, providing air, water and food for the countless trillions that live there. However almost all of Earth's resources come offworld. Were the planet itself forced to carry the burdens of its population, trillions would die in short order, with billions more forced into a slow and painful death of extreme environments and starvation.

Earth is the soul of the Dominion, and for that is why whole worlds and billions of lives must burn for it.
